My 19 year old daughter has a bucket list.  She’s nineteen, people.  She has a bucket list, and I don’t.  My whole life I have been a realist.  I have never been a dreamer.  I wish I was a dreamer.  I want to be a dreamer.  My life will be better as a dreamer.  This page is dedicated to me being a dreamer.

I keep this little light up sign by my desk in my home office as a constant reminder.  I am a dreamer, I am a dreamer, I am a dreamer.  Stay tuned as I randomly post ideas for my bucket list here!  Send me a message if you have great bucket list ideas!

# 1.  Travel to all 50 states

This has always been a desire, so now I’m writing it down to help it come into fruition.  I’ve lived all over the country, South Dakota, Arizona, California, Nebraska, Michigan, Texas, and Georgia over my 50 something years, and I’ve been to 42 of our 50 great states.  NOTE:  Layovers at airports do not count!  So, my goal in the next few years is to knock off those last states!

UPDATE: January 22, 2022: I am down to 6 states left on this bucket list, knocking off Washington and Wyoming recently! Stay tuned for for an exciting update on my plans for a 4 month road trip coming up in 2022!

The states I need to visit:

  • Alaska
  • Hawaii
  • Idaho
  • Montana
  • North Dakota
  • Wisconsin

#2 Do a Random Act of Kindess Every Day for a Year

In my human-ness, I tend to get bogged down in my own worries, problems (first world problems, of course) and needs (which are actually wants disguised as needs).  So, in 2019, I am going to do a random act of kindness everyday for a year.  Yeah…that’s pretty scary.  But, I am going to use the Random Acts of Kindness website for inspiration and motivation.  My prayer is to that I will make a positive impact on other people each day, but I know in the process, it’s me who will be changed by this exercise.

#3 Go on a Luxury Train Ride

This has always intrigued me.  It could be the US, Europe, Asia, I’m not particular.  But, to me, there is something romantic and also adventurous about this form of travel.

#4  Go to a Showing of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon

I just love Jimmy Fallon.  I’d especially love it if I went to one with JT as the guest and they sing and dance together.  That would really be great.  Anyone know anyone at NBC?
